Hey there 👋. My name is Thorir, and I’m so glad that you’ve stumbled upon our little corner of the internet. We do things differently here and so I just wanted to share a little bit about my journey to give you some context as to how things are at Snowhouse Studio.
My entrepreneurial journey began back in 2015 when I co-founded an Icelandic travel marketplace with my childhood friend. Looking back now, we didn’t have a clue what we were doing. I didn’t know anything about design, building websites, or running a business. We were running in the dark, for the most part.
What we figured out was that having a great website was one of the most important piece of the puzzle because that’s how we were going to build trust and win customers. So, we set out to make it ourselves. We didn’t have the money to pay an established agency or design studio,so we went the freelance route. We worked with several people from sites like Fiverr and Upwork, and we just couldn’t seem to get the quality that we wanted.
This was a blessing in disguise because it forced us to learn all the ins and outs of website design so we could create something we could be proud of. It was those early steps that put me on this path towards what would become Snowhouse Studio. I’m now fortunate enough to be in a position to help other people create their dream websites, leveraging the thousands of hours we spent perfecting ours.
